I've always been in control of my feelings and strong and could handle anything. Once my baby was born, it was like a switch flipped. I was depressed and stressed and anxious over EVERYTHING. I hated being alone but only wanted certain people around. I was scared to leave the house and wondered if I could truly be the mom I wanted to be. I stopped sleeping and eating and could barely function. I was embarassed and ashamed to admit I needed help. Finally I broke and confessed and scampered to get help. My psychiatrist is amazing. The meds and therapy she has offered have completely given me my life back. I think every new mom should be counseled or have a mental health meeting after giving birth. Thanks for sharing.
